Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all bookings or work undertaken by The Handy Guys:

1. No Quibble Guarantee
All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months. In the unfortunate event that any work has to be rectified this will be done free of charge.

2. Parts and other materials
The Handy Guys will add a mark-up to any parts and materials that we supply to reflect the fact that we are using our expertise to select and find the right materials. Any parts or materials supplied by us are guaranteed for 12 months. However, The Handy Guys are not able to guarantee any parts or materials supplied by a customer.
The Handy Guys reserve the right not to fit any parts or materials supplied by a customer if we believe them not fit for the purpose or potentially dangerous.

3. Handyman scheduling
We do all we can to arrive within the agreed time slot. We will let the customer know immediately in the rare event that we cannot honour our commitment.

4. Estimates and pricing
In most cases, we can use our expertise to provide an approximate time to complete a job over the phone at the time of booking. If, on arrival, the handyman assesses that a job cannot be completed within the previously estimated time, the customer will be offered the following alternative options: do as much as possible in the allotted time with the option to schedule more time to complete; reschedule completely for the correct amount of time; or decide not to proceed and no charge will apply. In the event that the job legally requires a qualification not held by the handyman (e.g. Gas Safe), then the handyman will not proceed.

Beyond the first 30 minutes, jobs are charged in increments of 15 minutes or part thereof. If we finish the job in less time that was estimated, then the customer only pays for the actual time taken (minimum of 30 minutes).
Should the need arise to collect parts and materials (beyond what our handymen would normally carry), the handyman will make a charge for the time taken. If materials are needed outside of normal retail opening times, then a new booking will be required.

5. Payment
We accept cash, cheque and BACS transfer. We prefer payment directly to the handyman at the end of each visit.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer credit account facilities to our domestic customers.

6. Cancellation
At least 24 hours notice is required to cancel a customer appointment, if 24 hours is not given a callout charge may be levied.

The Handy Guys will deal with all complaints fairly and confidentially. The customer will be kept informed of what actions we are taking to remedy the complaint and how we intend to improve our services in the future.
